These proposed programs intended to harness the collective powers of CYCN members to meet challenges in their communities that Eagle Scouts are uniquely prepared to address.
Improving the Home Territory – Establish relationships with town government leaders to identify worthy volunteer projects for their town’s CYCN members. Organize their town’s CYCN members, local scouting resources, and other professional and community resources to implement those town-wide initiatives.
Eagles in Emergencies – Provide training to CYNC members to integrate and collaborate with professional first responders to focus on emergency challenges Eagle Scouts are best / uniquely qualified to address. Use CYCN collaboration resources to coordinate their efforts and liaise effectively in real-time with professional first responders. Use those same resources to communicate with, coordinate and direct CYCN resources from less unaffected areas to locations where they are most needed.
Eagles Aiding Warriors – Work with local veteran and community support organizations to assist veterans to live in secure surroundings, remain properly nourished, receive appropriate medical care or counseling, gain useful employment, and remain visible, valued and active members of their communities.
Eagles Aiding Elders – Work with local elderly support organizations to assist elderly citizens to perform (or assist them to perform) home maintenance chores, live in secure surroundings, remain properly nourished, receive appropriate medical care or counseling, and remain visible, valued and active members of their communities.
Eagles Aiding Nature’s Creatures – Work with local humane / animal welfare services and organizations to care for and protect nature’s creatures in their towns.
